Trying Keto for Weight loss
OK, OKAY!!! I have to admit that I was in this war against eating fats to lose weight, but I have to admit that not only is it working for my energy levels, but it\’s making me feel better overall about my weight loss progress!
Smalls wins count!
I have only seen a 2lb difference in my weight since I officially started, but that is so much better than nothing or gaining weight. A friend of mine shared with me her keto journey and for a while I was really skeptical because I don\’t like to feel limited or restricted with what I\’m eating but I had to give it a try after seeing her results in such a short period of time.
Also, I was praying for guidance from God in this process and I was led to a video by Pastor Kenneth Copeland and noticed that he was in total support of the ketogenic process. So, I suppose this isn\’t such a terrible way of beginning my new life as a healthier and happier person.
The good thing that I will say about keto is I\’ve eaten some good tasty treats lately and guilt free because of the lack of net carbs, which I\’m told I should really be tracking the total carbs instead of focusing on net carbs. I don\’t know, but I\’m open to learning. Whatever I decide, I want it to be lifestyle changes and not just a fad.
This Weight Loss journey has been kind of scary!
I want this weight to hurry up and GO! Like now! I am so ready to be in a smaller body than this… I can\’t fit crap! Although this first time I shed weight I had so much loose skin and also, I lived in fear of gaining it back so there is a part of me that is nervous about this whole process of putting it back on. And maybe that mindset is keeping me from shedding it all in the first place and it also could be the reason I gained most of the weight back.
Admittingly, this first time I shed over 100lbs it\’s because I was doing Isagenix. Many of you may have never heard of it, but it promotes eating more protein and lower carb intake, so I tried going back to it initially and what I found is that whatever worked for me last time certainly didn\’t agree with my body in it\’s current state. I did the system consistently for about 9 days and barely lost a pound. In fact, I was feeling heavier than I wanted to and hungrier than ever. I\’m so glad that is over. I mean, the protein shakes totally have their purpose, but I don\’t want to restrict myself like that anymore. I am going to stick to actually eating real food.
Late night snacking… uummm
So, I also must be honest when I say this… I have been up pretty late working and that causes me to keep snacking. Lately, I have found myself snacking on handfuls of almonds late at night and it doesn\’t seem to be impacting me much, but I feel they are actually having a pretty positive impact on my sleep and my gut health.
These small changes seem to really be impacting the overall picture. I heard 2 times today someone say, \”Don\’t worry about how long it will take to lose the weight because time will pass anyway, just do what you can every day and to the best of your ability and you will make the necessary progress!\”
So, GLORY TO GOD! I will do just that. I don\’t care how long it takes; I will be healthy!
