Faith to Overcome Heaviness

Battling the enemy of heaviness isn\’t always easy, but it becomes easier when you have faith that you\’ve actually already won the battle. You have a choice to either believe the picture that is being presented to you or you can believe the Word that God has ministered to your heart. From the moment that you made the decision to do something to drop the weight, all forces in the Universe began to align with the decision you made in support of your declaration being fulfilled.

God ministered these promises or scriptures to my heart today:

\”Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.\”

1 Peter 1:6-9

Let\’s break this down...

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

Satan is always going to try to attack you when you are on the brink of a breakthrough, that is his ammo. He wants you to be convinced that the Word of God isn\’t working and to give up hope in the thing you are desiring to come to pass.

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

One thing I have come to learn after coming out of New Age studies is that the enemy is always trying to pervert the Word of God. He has taken so many things that God meant for good and turned them to evil. There are a few concepts and ideas that I learned while practicing New Age that actually came directly from God\’s Word.

\”Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.\”

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

I used to hold on to the affirmation: Faith is an expectation of your desired outcome. This is true, but its origin was the Bible. There are a lot of people that don\’t believe in the Bible and most of them just haven\’t read it with an open heart. The Bible isn\’t just a book that you can pick up and read from beginning to end. It\’s a spiritual book filled with promises and instruction to the children of God on how to live life here in the Earth. It is the truth concerning our existence and creation. You cannot read it with speculation, but only with a pure heart will the mysteries be uncovered to you.

\”Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.\”

Matthew 7:7-8

Your faith will be tried, but it is more precious than gold. It is a gift from God.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:8

\”For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.\”

Romans 12:3

When Jesus walked the earth, he healed people according to their faith. Everyman is born with the faith of man, but when you are born again you receive the faith of God. This is the faith that can shift your life from heavy to light, from lack to abundance, from failure to success, from sick to health, from sadness to joy… this is the force that brings victory and increase into every area of life.

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

\”For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?\”

1 John 5:4-5

So, the very temptations and trials that you are experiencing in the world are trying to keep you from using your God given faith… but as we can see, the Bible says that the faith of the born again believe IS the victory that overcomes the world. This faith isn\’t earned or deserved; it\’s given to those that believe that Jesus is the Son of God. But what if you don\’t believe in Jesus?

\”How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?\”

Romans 10:14

We need to actually hear a message or testimony from someone who has gotten victory in the same area that we are battling; this is the preacher.

\”So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.\”

Romans 10:17

God will send someone who has used His Word to conquer in battle and they will share that same Word (or scripture) with you, this will give you faith for your own situation… giving God ALL THE GLORY!!

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Let\’s put all of this together. As we experience what seems like failure and become heavy with worry and anxiousness about what is being presented to us by life, and we present these things to God, He will send people in our path who have experienced victory in that area to minister a Word and scriptures associated with victory that will put us in faith. This will unlock the disbelief in our mind (or soul). We will then use that Word (or scripture) of faith to get victory in our own battle. The enemy will try to present things that make us doubt the Word or fear the outcome but stand strong in faith… as this is the victory that overcomes the world.

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13
